Rachel Panush

In case you hadn’t noticed, I just love beautiful fabrics. From a very early age, I had a strong interest in textiles and art. While growing up in Gainesville, Florida, I nurtured a fantasy of attending fashion school in New York City, but wound up studying anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania instead.

After college, I was based in the New York area where I tried to launch myself in various creative careers. Meanwhile, I developed a silk painting hobby into a full time operation. I created one of kind clothing, scarves and wall hangings that sold nationwide to high-end department stores, museum gift shops, clothing boutiques, and craft galleries.

In 1996, I moved to Los Angeles and retired the silk painting business. I became pregnant with my daughter in 2002 and in a flurry of prenatal energy, I returned to my textile and design passions and developed the prototypes for the Posh Papoose® collection.

I launched www.poshpapoose.com in 2004. My goal was to develop a creative enterprise that would add something fun and new to the marketplace and allow me to work from home while raising my kids. The website was redesigned in 2007 to be user-friendlier and to accommodate our expanding collection.

I love designing the Posh Papoose® collection and am excited to be continually adding new items to our online store. My mission is to bring high-quality flair to the art of babywearing and child rearing. I take pride in finding unique, modern, beautiful fabrics and transforming them into new thoughtfully designed products for everyday use. I hope you enjoy using your Posh Papoose™ items as much as we enjoy making them!

Lia & Etan

Lia was born at home in 2002 and helped usher in the first Posh Papoose® baby slings. She is especially enamored of the new plush blankets, particularly the silk trimmed ones.

Etan was born at home on October 31, 2005 and he is finally learning to keep his hat on.

Will G.

When needed, Will is coaxed into reluctant service as a model, phone answerer, package receiver, child wrangler, errand man, and general sounding board.

Julie O’Brien Flanders

Production Manager

Julie joined the team while six months’ pregnant with her second child. She hails originally from Ireland and balances her Posh Papoose work with raising two young sons. She is an amazing and clever designer, pattern maker, and seamstress who has been vital to our growth and success. Julie is committed to quality, craftsmanship, and innovation and it shows in everything she makes.

Thao

Thao is a newer addition to our lively band of freelance sewers. In between Posh Papoose projects, Thao is a talented costumer, illustrator, and designer in the film industry.

Lisa Han

Lisa had just begun to explore her interest in fiber arts when she met Rachel, who encouraged her to delve more deeply into quilt design. Lisa delights in her new role as “playmat and quilt designer” for Posh Papoose. When not doing serious work in the non-profit world or applying to grad school in public policy, she creates beautiful one of a kind quilts exclusive to www.poshpapoose.com.

Chris Myung, Graphic Design

Chris designed the fantastic logos, business cards, and print materials that help make Posh Papoose look so good. She has two small children and is the art director of a game and puzzle company located in the Boston area.
