Beautiful, Distinctive Fabrics

Each sling is made from over 3 yards of limited-edition high quality fabrics in a range of distinctive prints and solid colors and a variety of fabrics. We offer a range of styles to offer something special for everyone, dads included. We are very picky about our fabrics and carefully select top quality goods in a range of inspired designs and textures. We are always looking to add more eco-friendly options as they become available.

Comfortable

Road tested by an actual sling-wearing & designing mama, the Posh Papoose® sling offers premium comfort in a ring sling. We use soft light batting in the shoulder and rails for ease of use, as well as for your and your child’s comfort. We keep the padding in the side rails short enough to allow you to tighten it as much as you need.

Versatile

Whether dressed up or down, the Posh Papoose® baby sling will carry your child from birth through toddlerhood, while sleeping, nursing, talking, or just looking at the world. Share the sling with other caregivers, use it as a playmat, a shopping cart cover, a sun shade, a blanket, or changing station. Your baby can lie down, sit up, face forwards, face inwards, or even ride on your back. You can’t beat a ring sling with an open tail for versatility.

Adjustable

With a ring sling, you can quickly and easily adjust the fit and position while you are wearing it. You can share with a different sized child or partner. You can fine tune the fit by pulling on just one rail. Our larger rings make it easier to adjust. Our slings can be shortened by securing the attached loop on the pocket to the rings. (On older models, this feature is a tie design).

Just the right size

The generous length of our sling allows it to be adjustable and shared between people of differing heights and provides the long “tail” that can be used as a sun shade or nursing cover-up. One size fits most. If you are particularly petite or broad and tall, let us know and we can customize the size for you. Most men and women between 5’1” and 6’ are fine with the length of our sling and the length of the padding the side rails.

Our slings are designed to be “One Size Fits MOST”. If you are between 5’1” and 6’ in height and 110 – 180 lbs in weight, our sling length should be fine. The tail length will vary depending on the wearer’s size and the carrying position. If you feel the sling is not a good length for you, please contact us so we can determine if you need help using the sling or what size sling would work best for you. You may custom order a smaller or larger sling as a replacement. You can also request shorter side rails. A sling that is longer than our standard size will have shorter pockets depending on what length you request. Please note that custom orders are not returnable.

Quality Construction

Our unique design is easy to use and very comfortable. We reinforce everything with special stitches and hidden interfacing in high-stress areas. Because all items are made locally in small quantities, sometimes to order, then we are able to closely monitor quality in fabric and construction. When used properly, according to our instructions (see our User Guide), the Posh Papoose™ sling should hold up well. How long it holds up in one piece depends entirely on how you care for it. If your sling is thrashed after 1 - 2 years of hard use, we'll happily offer you a discount on a new sling for your next baby!

Large, Safety Tested Rings

We use the biggest, best, heavy-duty, yet lightweight nylon and aluminum rings we can buy and we color match to the fabric. Our rings come from an American, family-operated company that specializes in rings just for slings. Our large diameter rings allow for easy adjusting and are quality tested by the manufacturer. They are also certified to be lead-free. Many sling companies use 2” metal rings, which are heavy, cost less, aren’t as attractive, and don’t adjust as well. According to our ring supplier, "Our sling rings undergo rigorous performance trials that test their ability to withstand extreme conditions. They are tested for resistance to impact and pulling, being soaked in bleach followed by a washer/dryer cycle, freezing followed by additional impact testing, and finally, heating followed by additional pull testing. According to our ring manufacturer, “one ring alone will actually lift a 3000 pound machine, without breaking. Additionally, each ring is individually tested and inspected before shipment. It must pass an impact test and a 250 pound pull test before being considered ready to ship. we have now instituted 100% testing on all of our aluminum rings as well. We designed a testing procedure that does not compromise the integrity of the rings and so, as of 01/14/2008, all of our rings, nylon and aluminum are pull tested to 250 pounds. We are still conducting batch testing for the crush and deformation tests. They are also periodically tested by an outside testing facility, and meet the same rigorous requirements as our nylon rings." Rest assured, Posh Papoose LLC does not cut corners with rings - there is no plastic to be found in our slings. We take safety seriously (and we hope you do too!).

Large Handy Pocket

Each sling comes equipped with a large sectioned pocket, large enough for up to 3 lbs basic gear such as diapers, wipes, burp cloths, cell phone, etc. It is an open pocket, but since it’s deep, stuff is not likely to fall out. If you are concerned about valuables, then you can wear a waist pack or carry a small purse for peace of mind.

Tie For Adjusting Length

Most Posh Papoose® baby slings also come with a small tie so you can tie the sling up to the rings to make it shorter or attach a small toy. When you have gear in the pocket, you may want to hook the tail to the rings to shorten it so the pocket doesn't bang into your leg.

Local sewing contractors earn a fair wage sewing our products. Our freelance production associates come from different walks of life, and include moms, emerging fashion designers and film costumers, and sewing enthusiasts. They all live nearby so we don’t use much gas driving around making the collection. You can see some of their cheerful faces in our About us section.
