Press Releases February 6, 2006 (Venice, CA) Posh Papoose LLC, a Venice-based company specializing in fashionable baby slings and accessories, will be donating goods to the March of Dimes babyLOVE, which is being held at the Pacific Design Center, in West Hollywood. This charity luncheon for 400 will recognize prominent celebrities and individuals who are celebrating the birth of their children and who are role models for the March of Dimes commitment to love and hope for healthy babies. The day will include lunch, an extraordinary luxury Baby Boutique, a live and silent auction and fantastic gift bags. The event is being sponsored by C Magazine, an arbiter of taste and trends and California’s first lifestyle magazine. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies’ lives. Posh Papoose LLC was started in 2002 with the birth of designer Rachel Panush’s first child. Ms. Panush’ s mission was to restyle the growing babywearing movement by offering stylish baby slings to design-conscious new mothers seeking an alternative to unattractive baby carriers. Since its inception, Posh Papoose has been donating new items from their collection to various non-profit organizations, such as La Leche League groups, schools, women’s shelters, social service non-profits, and more.

She began making slings for herself before the arrival of her first child, and she never stopped. She decided to turn her hobby into a web business and Posh Papoose was born. Rachel’s aim is to make well made, useful, user-friendly, fun, and stylish slings to encourage baby wearing by all. She has definitely succeeded in all respects. Her selection of gorgeous prints and limited edition fabrics is very impressive. Each sling is made from three yards of limited edition highest quality cotton, making them comfortable, easy to maneuver and extremely functional. I started out my mothering life with a custom made ring sling that I thought was fine until I tried a Posh Papoose Ultra. Not only was it much more stylish but so much more practical. It has a long tail that I have used as both a nursing cover and a sunshade, and the tail has two very large pockets for essentials like diapers, a wipes case and…lipstick! There are two matching strings on the tail that are intended to allow it to be tied up shorter, which is great, but it also works to tie the handle of a water bottle, a pacifier or a treasured lightweight toy to the sling to prevent the dreaded ‘floor drop.’ I put my keys in my pocket, everything else in the sling pocket and off I went, hands free to play with and cuddle my son. Posh Papoose offers your choice of padded, semi padded and unpadded slings and they match the rings to the fabric. Speaking of rings, the Posh Papoose was WAY easier to adjust than my previous sling. Not just because of the hideous "bad funky" looking design. I literally couldn't get the hang of it. After a few pathetic tries with that tragic polyblend contraption, I gave up on the concept. Until I took a second look at someone wearing a Posh Papoose. The thought that went through my head, as I flashed back on the straight-to-goodwill Sling that I had tried all those years ago, was that this was an Extreme Sling Makeover. Posh Papoose ring style slings are extremely comfortable for mom and baby. I couldn’t wait to try mine out when I received it. I took my daughter shopping in it for about 3 hours. Usually half way through she is crying and ready to go, not to mention my back and neck are killing me from carrying her for so long. After about two hours, my daughter just snuggled right in the sling and fell asleep. With her, that rarely happens, so I definitely was enjoying my snuggle time with her. And my neck and back felt great. The sling set very comfortably across my shoulder, I could shop away and not have to keep adjusting the sling or worry about it falling off my shoulder. Each Posh Papoose sling is made from three yards of absolutely the most beautiful fabrics around, no matter your style, they have the one for you. From soft cotton to luxe Douppioni silk you will be impressed. One of my favorite features of the Posh Papoose sling is the deep pockets. You can ditch the diaper bag, just put a few diapers, wipes, cellphone, and keys in the pockets, and off you and baby go. I know that has always been my complaint with any type of baby carrier, I find it very difficult to carry a diaper bag because it either hits my daughters legs or constantly falls off my shoulder. Well, not a problem with this sling because you can go without the bag. The sling has large sturdy safety tested rings that make adjusting your sling very easy. Ties allow you to shorten the length by tying the sling up to the rings. I am so in love with this sling and have gotten so many compliments on it, I know you will love yours as much as we do here at BabyGearToday.

The large ones are about 36″x 31″, so you could get one for yourself as well. And what is really great is that it is machine washable. I have already washed mine several times and it is just as soft as it was when I received it.

If your baby is like most, they will absolutely not let you keep sunglasses on them. The next best thing would be a great sun hat. Posh Papoose sun hats are stylish, and come in a ton of great fabrics. Posh Papoose is the only place you can get these beautiful hats. These too are machine washable. If you live in a sunny area, or you just want to make a fashion statement, you have to go check out these hats. They are available in small, 3-12 months, medium, 9-4,5T, and large, youth-adult.
